Trust Sweet Iron Hanging Cheek Slow Twist Locked
The Baucher cheekpiece also known as a Hanging Cheek, is a version of the Eggbutt , featuring smaller rings on top of the eggbutt rings. The bridle cheekpiece is attached to those smaller top rings and the reins to the eggbutt rings as usual. This creates a slight leverage effect.
The Slow Twist Locked mouthpiece is single-jointed with twisted iron on both sides but locks when it is hinged forward. So when there is counterpressure, it works like an unjointed mouthpiece. This makes the action stronger. When there is less counter-pressure on the reins, the bit changes back into a single-jointed mouthpiece. This makes it an ideal corrective mouthpiece for horses that, for example, press against the hand and/or walk through the hand. Because of the twist, this mouthpiece has sharper edges and therefore more effect on the layers than a normal single-jointed mouthpiece. This mouthpiece is not suitable for sensitive horses or inexperienced riders.
