The Curbgag is a combination of the Pelham and the Loose ring Gag. A Curbgag is a loose ring with two small holes on each side for the leather curb strap to run through. The pressure points are on the chin and behind the ears. This cheekpiece can be used with one or two reins. It is most commonly used with two reins, one attached to the large ring and the other to the ring of the leather curb strap. This way, the rider can better control the pressure distribution between the curb and the mouth.

The Dr. Bristol mouthpiece is a double-jointed mouthpiece with a flat middle section. Due to the shape of the mouthpiece, the pressure is evenly distributed between the middle and the side of the tongue upon tilting.
