A 2.5-ring cheekpiece is a milder version of a 3-ring (Pessoa) cheekpiece. This cheekpiece can be used to create a leverage effect. The lower the reins are placed, the more direct the bit becomes. Compared to the 2,5 Eggbutt , the loose rings can move loosely, allowing more movement in the bit and a more indirect effect of the hand’s help. The pressure point lies on the poll, just behind the ears.
The Wideport Segundo is a double-jointed mouthpiece with a tongue arch. Unlike other
double-jointed mouthpieces, the Wideport Segundo reduces the pressure on the tongue. The Wideport Segundo is usually used for horses that do not like the pressure on the tongue.
